1.  WELCOME AND REVIEW OF 2001 Kim Tompsett Joint Chair

2.  2002 ONWARDS Charmian Boyd Joint Chair  reported that the humps were being redone at both end of Hastings and middle of Denmark roads.  New designs for gateways had been produced and comments are invited from residents.  Gateways will be installed in Feb/March.  20mph signs are likely to be introduced at same time as the CPZ. CPZ markings will be done in March and it should be effective from the 1st April.  Work on funding for playground has started and hopefully there will be progress during the year.  The GLA has agreed funding of £360,000 for next year and possible areas of expenditure are improvement of pavements, shared surface trees, blocking off roads. Comments invited.  Other plans include street party on Golden Jubilee, football in the park at Easter, other events perhaps for older people?  Suggested meal, chess, etc.  Help in completing a consultation questionnaire from EVC was asked from a group of volunteers at end of meeting.

3.  TREASURERS REPORT Mike Hallam Treasurer

Mike reported that finances were in good order with a balance of approximately £700 including £500 received as a grant to buy plants. He confirmed that the street party in September made a good profit of over £200 of which it has been agreed £100 will be given to Meadowhouse - the hospice near Ealing Hospital.

4.  EXTERNAL INVOLVEMENT

EPTUG: Lawrence Peacock reported on his attendance at the local transport users group on which he represents the five roads. He said that a number of matters such as the proposed tram were discussed as were the performances of the various public transport suppliers. He invited people to come along or contact hi if there are points they would like raised.

EALING CENTRE PARTNERSHIP: Hugh Comerford reported that the partnership exists to ensure the right combination of amenities in the Ealing Broadway and West Ealing strategic centre. Office, shop, leisure and other plans are discussed by the group, which comprises, representatives from business, infrastructure, residents and the Council. One area of attention is the West Ealing shops, a success has been the establishment of the Farmers' Market which has boosted the level of custom at the surrounding shops. There are also plans for street wardens and a West Ealing residents' association.

5.  CONSTITUTION

The meeting was told that Section 4 of the Constitution currently reads

4.1  The Association shall have a Chairman, Vice Chairman, (or Joint-Chair) Secretary and Treasurer to be elected annually by the AGM.

4.2  The elected officers may hold office for a maximum of term of three consecutive years, at the expiration of which they shall not be eligible for re-election for at least one year.

It was feared that with the end of 3 years approaching several of the committee members will be lost in one go when there may not be people willing to take their place.

After discussion the meeting agreed that section 4.2 be dropped from the constitution and that the process of electing the listed officers at each agm be conducted more formally to both hang on to willing hands and encourage new people.

6.  AOB

The new street lighting was warmly welcomed, but residents in Hartington Road felt that whilst an improvement the lighting was not bright enough. The Council Transport Services Dept is on the case.

7.  CLOSE

The meeting was formally closed at 11.15am and was followed by individual discussion and coffee.
