OF FIVE ROADS FORUM AGM 17TH JANUARY 2004 AT 10.00AM CONSERVATIVE OFFICES BROUGHTON ROAD |
1. MINUTES LAST YEAR'S AGM (2003) agreed correct .
2. WELCOME AND REVIEW OF 2003 Charmian Boyd Joint Chair reported on the completion of the shared surface, the introduction of the barrier and planting. Thanks were expressed to Catherine Racadio for a very successful street party.
3. TREASURER'S REPORT Kim Tompsett Joint Chair reported in Mike Hallam's absence. Report approved.
4. PLANNING APPLICATIONS Lisa Hall Denmark Road Rep reported on the steady rise in permissions granted to residential developments in the immediate area (Cavalier House, M&S West Ealing, Waitrose etc). Waitrose was scheduled to start building in the Spring.
5. DANIEL PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT John Potts of Denmark Rd outlined the negotiations that had taken place between the 5 Roads, the Council and the developer in an attempt to moderate the density and 'in your face' nature of the proposed building that would house a new 2 storey Daniel's department store and approximately 140 apartments. Kim raised the point that the GLA has effectively re-written the planning rules which previously would not have permitted so many developments without accompanying infrastructure.
6. WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT. Robin Hall of Denmark Road has taken on responsibility for this and drew members attention to it (see fiveroadsforum.org).
7. PLAYGROUND James Buchanan of Hastings Road reported that the playground in Arden Road is under threat of sale as the Council looks at liquidating assets to raise cash.
8. BROUGHTON COURT: Neil Ashton rep for Broughton Court reported that fly tipping was an issue and that NTL cable boxes were being interfered with. The Council, he said was looking at replacement windows and a door entry system in April, but nothing definite yet.
9. ELECTION OF OFFICERS The Chairs (Chairmian and Kim), the Secretary (Hugh) and the Treasurer (Mike) stood down in accordance with the Constitution.
10. FUTURE PLANS Lisa Hall outlined the basic approach which would be to continue with the final aspects of Home Zone completion trees and planter boxes- and an emphasis on being more involved with planning proposals.
11. CAR CLUB The FRF Car Club project officer said this was about to go live with the first cars having business permits to park anywhere in the 5 roads. Dedicated spaces would come later after consultation. Cost of membership was raised particularly for families.
