MINUTES OF FIVE ROADS FORUM AGM

CONSERVATIVE OFFICES BROUGHTON ROAD

1. WELCOME AND REVIEW OF 2002 Kim Tompsett (Joint Chair) reported on the CPZ introduction, Jubilee party, developments in closing the western access to Hastings Rd and Waitrose's plans.

2. 2003 ONWARDS Charmian Boyd (Joint Chair) reported on the plans, at the meeting, for the shared surface to be implemented shortly. It was agreed that people would assist the Council to deliver a detailed plan of the proposals to each address and that the Project Board should meet to sign off the plans prior to implementation after last minute reactions from residents. 3

3. TREASURERS REPORT Mike Hallam (Treasurer) reported that finances were in good order with a balance of approximately £986 including £500 received as a grant to buy plants. Other income was a surplus from the party. Main outgoings had been subscriptions and expenses.

4. EXTERNAL INVOLVEMENT EPTUG: Lawrence Peacock reported on his attendance at the local transport users group on which he represents the five roads. He mentioned a meeting at which a speaker from London Underground would attend Wed 15th Jan and another occasion when Terry Worral from Thames Trains would speak. Achievements of the group were a service on Sundays from Greenford and improved bus shelters. There is also a hotline for people's views 020 8998 0999.

5. PLAYGROUND: James Buchanan has obtained quotes to make the space in Arden Rd into fully fledged playground. Price for surfacing and equipment circa £12,000. He is applying to grant awarding bodies for funds.

6. PLANNING APPLICATIONS: Lisa Hall now keeps an eye on these for the 5RF - she mentioned the main ones. Six mobile masts planned for the BT building in Gordon Rd; Majestic Wine site proposal to build a hotel; CPZ extension into the Cravens and St Leonards Rd, plus Waitrose.

7. BROUGHTON COURT: Neil Ashton reported that security was being discussed with a view to improvement in wake of increased undesirable elements entering the estate.

8. ELECTION OF OFFICERS The Chairs (Chairmian and Kim), the Secretary (Hugh) and the Treasurer (Mike) stood down in accordance with the Constitution and were all duly re-elected.

9. AOB A discount day with lunch is proposed at Daniels for pensioners in the five roads. Wednesday is though to be a good day of the week. Charmian is liasing with the store.
A street party for September just around the time the schools go back was suggested.
A planting day was also proposed for the planter boxes.

10. THANKS A vote of thanks was recorded to Jane Gardiner for her work as party co-ordinator for several events.
